Welcome to The American Character

"I call on you in the name of Liberty, of patriotism & everything dear to the American character"

The words above were sent out to the world February 24, 1836 from the Alamo by William B. Travis. They were written with the expectation that all who read them would understand his own version of those things dear to the American Character. It is the intent here to explore the elements of that Character and hopefully to help to continue the greatest secular experiment in human liberty the world has seen.
